Design for Noobs

As a webmaster, we all know there are only three ways to go when it comes to having a website that looks good. One is to just use a default template that comes with the script used to create a website, or finding some freebie template we like on our website. Two is to again use a default template or a freebie template and getting another webmaster to fix it up the way one wants for the website. And the third way is to hire someone to create a unique template from scratch. How serious a webmaster you are is in which step you take. Face it, many webmasters are happy with option number one, the default or free template. And options two and three cost money, depending on who one gets to design and/or change a template. But did you ever think of having an option four? Learning to do this yourself?
Here is a fairly new blog that is called Design for Noobs that will help you out in learning to design and create your own designs. The webmaster of this blog will be writing articles and adding content to help others when it comes to designing and creating websites. Possibly even how to take a default design or a free template and change it to suit your needs. Know how to change a color? Add a box for ads or content? How about graphics and pictures? Checking with this blog as the webmaster starts adding content will help you along in all of these endeavours.
One thing though, whether you are a noob looking for design help or a seasoned web designer, or anywhere in the middle, you have to visit this blog quick because the webmaster is actually having a contest where the winner will get an ipod free! All you have to do is go to the blog and comment on his contest thread to get 6 points. And if you write about his contest on your blog (hey! that is what I am doing now!!!) you will get another 5 points! Okay, I will get 11 points real quick here! Go and enter the contest now. Head off to this contest page now and make a comment then if you have a blog, blog about the contest. Who knows, you may win an ipod. Unless of course, I win it!
