I am sure that you, like all other webmasters including myself, advertise your site using a varied number of venues, from free advertising to paid advertising. Yes, you and I and all others advertise on forums, classified ad sites, ad boards, blogs and websites. After all, the bottom line for any website is to generate traffic to that website.
